India’s President Droupadi Murmu visits Amma

India’s President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Amritapuri to meet Amma during her six-day visit to Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Lakshadweep. The President also met with six members of Mexico’s Parliament who are in Amritapuri as part of Amma’s Civil 20 initiatives. She was welcomed by Swami Amritaswarupananda Puri at the Ashram gate, and Sannyasinis extended the cultural tradition of garlanding the President and presenting her with a shawl. President Murmu and Amma then discussed matters of common interest for half an hour in a private meeting.

AmritaSREE Self-Help Groups receive € 10 million in financial support this year

The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh visited Amritapuri to take part in the inauguration of this year’s distribution to self-help groups in 21 states.
It was in 2005 that Amma began AmritaSREE as an initiative to empower rural women to independently earn a living. This came in the wake of the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami when families that depended upon fishing were completely devastated. ETW provides annual seed grants for the SHGs, as well as training in vocational trades that include tailoring, nursing, handicrafts, plumbing and electronics repair.
Born of Love: Mata Amritanandamayi Centre Italy opens its doors

The property is located in the beautiful natural surroundings of Località Nebbiolo in the municipality of Gavi, Piemonte, about 60 km north of Genoa. Spread across 20 hectares, it will become a gathering place for Amma’s Italian community.
India to host G20 Leaders’ Summit 2023: Amma to chair its civil society sector

The Govt of India has appointed Amma as the Chair of the country’s Civil 20 (C20), an official engagement group of the Group of 20 (G20). India will assume the Presidency of the G20 for one year from December 1, 2022 to November 30, 2023 and host next year’s G20 Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi.
