Darshan, Bhajans, Puja, Devi Bhava are means offered by Amma to bring us closer to our true inner nature of joy, love and peace. DARSHAN is the moment when Amma greets all who wish to come to Her, embracing each person in Her unique, uplifting hug. During darshan, one can contemplate unconditional love at work and absorb the peaceful atmosphere of Ammas presence. BHAJANS is the practice of devotional singing as a mean to focus the mind on the divine. Bhajans are part of the bakti yoga tradition, based on love and devotion to God or the Self. ÂTMA PUJA is a ritual worship led by Amma, in a simplified form in which all are invited to participate. This puja is performed to purify our thoughts and open our hearts. DEVI BHAVA, on the last night of the programme, is a special darshan during which Amma more specifically embodies the « Divine Mother » aspect, as represented in the Hindu tradition. In this very intense moment, Amma manifests, in a most dazzling way, Her love and compassion for mankind.
In her embrace, they find serenity. That eminent institutions award her in 2002, Gandhi King prize of non violence, following the example of Nelson Mandela and Kofi Annan, commands respect. That she raised 18 millions euros in favor of tsunami victims commands admiration...
létreinte expresse dAmma by Anne Ghiringhilli Femme Actuelle n°1104 november 21th, 2005
Since her chilhood, Mata Amritanandamayi is a living example of compassion, love and tolerance. She spread her message setting an example of her own life instead of using words. And this example is the expression of her universal and unconditionnal love for humanity.
Michaëlle Jean, Canada General Governor Ottawa, July 2006
